Big Wall Climbing · version 2026-09-15

The short version. Playing solo keeps everything in your own browser. Playing at a table keeps a name you choose and the moves of that game on the server, because that is what makes a shared table work. The page reports how the game is played to Google Analytics, so the game can be balanced. There are no accounts, no email addresses, no passwords, no payments and no adverts, and nothing is sold or passed to anybody else.

1. Who is responsible

Cez Krol, as an individual rather than a company. Contact: [email protected].

2. What is kept, and why

WhatWhyWhere
Your dials and an unfinished solo gameSo you can pick up where you left offYour browser only. Nothing about a solo game is sent anywhere
The name you type at a tableSo the others at the table can see who they are playing. If you open a public table it also appears on the list of open tablesThe server, in Singapore
A random tokenSo a reload brings you back to your seatYour browser and the server
The table's settings and every move of its gameSo the game can be played, and so it survives a server restart. Finished tables are removed an hour after the last person looks at them; a table nobody is at goes at once, and anything untouched for six hours goesThe server
How the page is usedTo balance the game and find out whether anybody is finding it: which screens are opened, the dials that are set, each move made (take, climb, train), how long a turn and a game take, how games end, and errors shown. With it, what Google Analytics collects on its own: a rough location from the network address (country and city), the kind of device and browser, its language, and which site the link came fromGoogle Analytics (Google Ireland Limited), for 14 months

3. Google Analytics, and what is switched off

The page uses Google Analytics 4. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and one more, kept for up to two years) so that a return visit can be told from a first one. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store network addresses. Advertising features, Google Signals and every advertising cookie are switched off in the page's own code and stay off: there are no adverts on the game and no plan for any. Nothing typed is recorded: not your name, not a table code, not a keystroke, and never the cards in anybody's hand, which the server does not send to other players' browsers in the first place.

4. Not being counted

Open the game once with ?nomeasure=1 on the end of the address, like this, and that browser is never measured again (until it is opened with ?nomeasure=0). A content blocker has the same effect. The offline file of the game measures nothing at all.

5. The legal basis

Our legitimate interest in developing the game, for the measurement and the game records; performing our agreement with you, for the name and token that make a table work. If you would like to see or have deleted what is held about a table you sat at, write to the address above and say which table code.
